Old MP3 Player = Funfun

Anyone knows what CPU is in that thing? Want to reverse the firmware.

…problem still not solved though :(

Problems…

…with the plugin. It blocks standby. No idea why. Shutting it down when standby (actually suspend) is requested works. Reloading the plugin when switching the PSP back on doesn’t. TV out works though. My PSP connectors are broken, both, TV Out and USB only work as long as they want to (or you put little pieces of conductor into the jack). Anyone has a TV Out board for sale or know where I can get those?

Apart from that there is this tiredness :( .

Soldering 43 Wires To A 5x5cm Board…

I’m Dead…

…if the TV Out uses SIO. Srsly, that would destroy all my thoughts. However, at least the TV Out extention came today and it even features the pins for SIO :].

The Final Circiut Plan!

You can replace the 7805 with a LM1086 to get 3.3V instead of 5V. R1 and R2 are 1kΩ to 10kΩ. See 7805/LM1086 datasheet for C1 and C2 values. See cristal datasheet for C3 and C4 values (22pF should do the job). Input is from PSP TV out, Output is to TV, Connector is to PS2 controller. You may need another resistor for the LEDs depending on what LEDs you choose.

Well, I just bought some hardware for 40€ (~55$) . If I get those I’ll be able to make a prototype.
